Adaptations Update November 2018

Adaptations can help people with mobility issues and physical disabilities live safely in their own homes. Many SFHA members have highlighted that funding for adaptations has fallen short in recent years, meaning tenants have had to wait for adaptations that will help them live their lives safely and independently.  This article provides a short summary of recent activity relating to adaptations and encourages SFHA members to complete a short survey about their funding situations.

Tackling Social Isolation and Loneliness: Housing Association Round Table

The Scottish Government has written a draft strategy on Tackling Social Isolation and Loneliness. Consultation on this strategy closes on 29 April 2018. SFHA and GWSF are hosting a Housing Association Roundtable event to gather examples and views of members to feed into the SG consultation.

Sanctuary Group - Community Breakfast

Taking place every Tuesday morning at the Hall at Peat Road in Glasgow’s Priesthill area, the Hall Breakfast Club is a community project run by volunteers and supported by Sanctuary Scotland and the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership. Although only initially planned to run for 10 weeks, the Breakfast Club celebrated its second birthday on Tuesday 26 March 2019 with volunteers, members of the local community, and children from the local primary school attending the celebrations.
