Oak Tree Housing Association (OTHA) is a successful community based Association, owning and managing over 1760 rented homes and providing services for over 1,000 home owners in Inverclyde. In addition, OTHA has 2 subsidiaries:

  • Cloch Housing Association (CHA), which owns and manages 1407 rented homes and provides services to over 321 home owners in Inverclyde.
  • Oak Tree Housing Initiatives, which provides residential letting and development services.

Following a retiral and as a result of a recent restructure within our Finance Team, the Association now requires to recruit a highly motivated and committed finance professional to join our team.

Job Description

The Finance Manager will be responsible for all operational aspects of finance within OTHA and its subsidiaries, including managing the finance team to ensuring a high quality service is provided to colleagues and Committees.

The joint turnover of OTHA and CHA in 2017/18 was £18M, with net assets of £36.6M.  The Associations have different financial strategies, cultures, business systems, staff teams and distinct local identities and the role represents an exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives on variety, challenge, job satisfaction and working with an exceptional staff team.  The role requires having the ability to deliver day-to-day financial management and accounting services, with a focus on continuous improvement, customer excellence and value for money, which underpins the organisations’ business objectives and customers’ needs and aspirations.

For this post, candidates will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic with an accounts qualification and be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving organisational performance through people management, process reviews and strong financial management skills and knowledge. Having excellent verbal and written skills, candidates should also have well developed management skills, hands on experience of financial tasks and relevant experience of management and statutory accounts, the budget process and report writing.  With a quarterly reporting committee cycle for both Associations, the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads is essential along with flexibility, excellent numeracy, attention to detail, excel, and general IT skills.
